An inspiration for all.
The World’s Oldest Female Bodybuilder
Want to get fit over 40? Need some inspiration? Meet the world’s oldest bodybuilder, Mrs. Ernestine Shepherd.
For some reason, many give up the fight to be fit when we reach a certain age. Studies show that coronary artery disease, cancer, high blood pressure, and many other illnesses that seem to sneak up on folks in their forties, fifties, and sixties have their start in our teens and twenties! Watch out young YOLOs!
Do you think it’s too late to turn your health around? Fortunately, the human body is poised to repair itself when given a chance. Mrs. Shepherd started her age defying fitness journey at 52 years old. In 2011 at age 74, The Guinness Book of World Records recognized her as the world’s oldest female competitive bodybuilder. Now at age 77, she is living proof that determination, discipline, and faith can pay off in special ways.
A special note to the ladies. Ms. Ernestine is also proof that lifting weights will not make you bulky and less feminine. Instead the proper training and diet can make one strong and able later in life. No osteoporosis or walkers here.
Here is a video of her story.
